NJDSC Coalitions Calls for Transparency and Humane Treatment at Delaney Hall
TRENTON, NJ - New Jersey Democratic State Committee Coalitions is deeply concerned by the ongoing reports and events surrounding Delaney Hall in Newark, including allegations of unsafe conditions, lack of transparency, and the treatment of individuals currently being detained at the facility.
As a coalition committed to community, we believe every person deserves humane treatment, access to proper medical care, and due process regardless of immigration status. The growing concerns raised by advocates, families, elected officials, and community members demand transparency and accountability.
New Jersey’s immigrant communities are an essential part of the fabric of our state. Many families across our communities are experiencing fear and uncertainty during this moment, and we stand in solidarity with those impacted.
We support efforts to ensure independent oversight, full access for inspectors and elected officials, and the protection of civil and human rights for all individuals detained at Delaney Hall.
