Trenton, NJ — Today, Leroy J. Jones Jr., Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, released the following statement:
“After hiding from reporters and not saying a word as the decimation of Medicaid was debated, Tom Kean Jr. abandoned New Jersey children and families in favor of pleasing Donald Trump. With his support for Trump’s devastating cuts to Medicaid, Kean Jr. is harming access to healthcare for over 1.8 million New Jerseyans, which includes a third of all NJ kids. Kean Jr. claims he’s rooting out fraud and waste from our government but in reality he’s just putting billionaire tax cuts over the health of our state. Voters won’t forget this betrayal, and come 2026, he’s the fraud and waste that will be kicked to the curb.”
