Crickets from Ciattarelli "As Power Bills Jolt Voters"

TRENTON, NJ – “In a campaign already focused on affordability, high energy costs have emerged as a breakout issue,” Politico’s E&E News reports today.

Mikie’s ending the rate hikes on day one –

Jack’s not even answering questions.

  • E&E News: Sherrill said the cost of living has been the top issue she’s heard about from voters during the campaign.

  • “As I travel up and down the state, the No. 1 issue on New Jerseyans’ minds is how expensive things are, especially utility bills,” she said, going on to accuse Ciattarelli of not having a plan to reduce electricity costs, while supporting policies that raise prices. “I’ll take on anyone to lower costs for New Jersey families, but Jack is going to sit back and let Trump drive up costs while New Jerseyans foot the bill,” she said.

  • The Ciattarelli campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Remember that Jack called high energy prices “a big help” to his campaign – at the same time that a “seven-figure advertisement [of his] edits an interview snippet of Sherrill praising the low costs of renewables to make it sound like the opposite,” with the same “dishonesty” New Jersey voters have come to expect from him.

“Jack Ciattarelli is too busy twisting Mikie Sherrill’s words in deceptive ads to come up with any real plan to take on the grid operators raising energy prices in this state, but why worry when you’ve called skyrocketing costs ‘a big help’ politically, like he has? There’s one candidate in this race with a plan to end the rate hikes on day one – that’s Mikie Sherrill,” said New Jersey Democratic State Committee spokesperson Ryan Radulovacki.
