Affordable Healthcare For All

New Jersey Democrats believe healthcare is a right and everyone should have equal access to quality, affordable medical care, dental services, mental health support, and prescription medications no matter their income or work status.

How New Jersey Democrats Have Delivered:

  • Expanded NJ FamilyCare, providing free or affordable health insurance to eligible New Jersey residents.

  • Improved access to Medicaid to ensure that the highest number of New Jerseyans will have access to healthcare services.

  • Launched Get Covered New Jersey, the state’s official health insurance marketplace where individuals and families can compare plans, enroll, and apply for financial assistance to lower costs.

  • Supported the Inflation Reduction Act, which lowers Medicare prescription costs in New Jersey by capping insulin at $35/month, allowing drug price negotiations, and limiting annual out-of-pocket expenses to $2,000.

  • Modernized the NJ WorkAbility program to allow working individuals with disabilities to retain their Medicaid benefits, regardless of income or assets.

What New Jersey Democrats Are Fighting For:

  • The Affordable Care Act to remain the law of the land, even as Republicans across the country work to dismantle it. We want more Americans covered by affordable healthcare, not fewer.

  • Medicaid and Medicare to remain fully funded to ensure that our most vulnerable populations can receive the healthcare services they need.

  • To continue to make healthcare more affordable and accessible for every person in New Jersey.
