Year One Victories include a Historic Vaccine Rollout, American Rescue Plan and Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment

TRENTON, NJ – Today marks the one year anniversary of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris taking office, a time when the country has seen significant progress on protecting people from COVID-19, restoring the economy and investing in the country’s future. In response, NJDSC Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr., has released the following statement:

“President Biden and Vice President Harris took office during a time of crisis and turmoil that was left behind by the former President and have accomplished a great deal for the American people. This administration, along with congressional Democrats, immediately got to work and passed the American Rescue Plan that provided much needed stimulus to families and businesses, including billions in relief to New Jersey. In year one, they have gotten millions of vaccines into arms in what has been one of the greatest public health accomplishments in our nation’s history and saved countless lives in the process. And of course the bi-partisan infrastructure law delivered a once in a generation investment in our roads and bridges that will be felt especially in New Jersey with the funding of the Gateway Tunnel.

With all of this in mind, I would like to offer my congratulations to the Biden/Harris administration on all of these tremendous victories for the American people and look forward to more progress in the next year. There is of course much more work that needs to be done, but it’s important to take a moment to reflect on these tremendous accomplishments while we collectively strive for more victories for the American people.”
