Mikie Sherrill

U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Navy helicopter pilot, former federal prosecutor, and mother of four – Mikie Sherrill proudly serves New Jersey in Congress and is running for governor to make life easier and more affordable for Garden State families.

After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1994, the first class of women eligible for combat roles on ships and aircraft, Mikie served nearly 10 years on active duty as a Sea King Helicopter pilot, leading missions throughout Europe and the Middle East. Mikie then earned a law degree and worked as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey, fighting to keep our communities safe.

In 2018, Mikie flipped New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District from red to blue, marking the biggest swing of the year. A mom of four, Mikie has a record of fighting to bring down costs for families and delivering for the communities she serves, including securing funding for critical infrastructure projects like the Gateway Tunnel to improve commutes and reduce traffic congestion.

As governor, Mikie will continue to stand up for New Jersey by driving down costs from housing to healthcare to utilities, defending abortion rights, fighting back against Trump’s federal overreach, and supporting essential programs like Social Security, Medicare, and our public schools.
