Holdsworth Selected as Director, Will Assemble Team to Help Elect Democrats at All Levels

(Trenton) – Today, John Currie, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee (NJDSC), announced that the Democratic coordinated campaign will begin this month. Jennifer Holdsworth, the party’s Political Director, will take on the task of managing this year’s coordinated campaign effort.

The coordinated campaign is the umbrella organization under which the state party combines its resources and focuses its efforts: organizing volunteers, contacting and mobilizing voters, and advancing the entire slate of Democratic candidates on the ballot through party building activities that will sustain past Election Day.

“Jennifer has shown us time and again that she can get things done in New Jersey’s sometimes rough and tumble world of politics. As a veteran Democratic campaign operative, Assembly staffer, and attorney, she has established enduring statewide relationships, and is well-respected among public and party officials alike. Jennifer has spent the last six months diving head first into party building on behalf of he NJDSC, and I’m confident in her ability to oversee every detail of the coordinated campaign’s many moving parts,” said Currie.

Currie continued, “I am proud that the New Jersey Democrats have nominated a diverse ticket of candidates that includes more female congressional nominees than ever before, and several men and women of color.  We will be putting together an experienced team reflective of the diversity, principles and ideals that are so important to our party.

“We’re stronger when we are working together, and when we are engaged in the political process, especially at the ballot box,” said Brendan Gill, Campaign Manager for United States Senator Cory Booker, who will lead the Democratic ticket as he seeks a full-term in office. “I look forward to working with Jennifer and the rest of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee as we rally New Jerseyans of all ages in support of our great team of Democratic candidates.”

For more than 14 years, Holdsworth has been on staff or managed many local, state, and congressional elections. Jennifer has also served in a variety of governmental posts. She served as the Director of Policy and Communication for Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle, as a Congressional Aide in the office of former Congressman Steven Rothman, and also as Clerk to the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Holdsworth graduated from Rowan University and earned her law degree from Seton Hall University.

“I’m very excited about taking on this new role.” Holdsworth, said. “The hard-working residents of New Jersey are being unfairly burdened by misguided Republican policies — both at the state level, and in Washington. I will work tirelessly to help elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.”
