Treasurer Kelly Stewart Maer

Kelly has more than twenty years of political and government experience in New Jersey. Currently working at Duane Morris Government Strategies Trenton, NJ and Newark, NJ offices.


She has served various positions with numerous local, state and federal campaigns including serving as Finance Director for several statewide races. Her extensive experience has enabled her to be a part of a team developing and executing successful campaigns.

Kelly has comprehensive knowledge of the New Jersey legislative and executive branches from serving in various government positions working for two New Jersey Governors, Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly and working as media spokesperson for NJ TRANSIT.

She has more than a decade of lobbying and advocacy experience from working on behalf of a diverse client base and from working as healthcare lobbyist for New Jersey's largest statewide business association. She has advocated on behalf of clients in a number of industries ranging from major corporations, small business, government entities along with trade and professional associations.

In 2003, Kelly was elected to and served on the New Jersey Small Employer Health Benefits Program Board. She also served as a Delegate to the 1996 Democratic National Convention.

In March 2013, Kelly was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of PAM's List (Power and Money for Choice and Change). PAM's List is a New Jersey-based organization which supports Democratic, pro-choice women to the New Jersey State Legislature.

In May 2013, Kelly was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ). The WPCNJ, founded in 1972, is a chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus and is the authoritative voice for women in New Jersey politics. WPCNJ is a multi-partisan organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in elected and appointed positions in government, protecting reproductive freedom, and promoting equal rights for women.

In June 2013, Kelly was elected to serve as Treasurer of the New Jersey State Democratic Committee.


Kelly received her Master of Arts Degree from Rowan University and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina.
