For US Congress - District 5
A 33 year old business attorney who lives in Hackensack, Roy Cho is running for Congress to do something about the gridlock and moneyed special interests that are making Washington more dysfunctional than ever.
Cho is the son of immigrants who came to the United States with little more than the conviction that hard work and determination could lead to success. A scholar athlete and product of New Jersey public schools, Roy graduated with honors from Brown University and earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center where he served as the Editor in Chief of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. After college and during law school, Roy also worked in government.
Currently on a leave of absence from the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP to campaign for Congress, Roy has been a business and private equity attorney for the past five years. He uses his understanding of the increasingly complex corporate and public-private partnership arenas to help guide clients in the United States and throughout the world.
He is challenging Congressman Scott Garrett, a Tea Party extremists who neglected the needs of Superstorm Sandy survivors when they needed him most.
