DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIRMAN URGES LEGISLATORS TO FORCE COMPROMISE IN ATLANTIC CITY, PROTECT FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES

(Trenton) -- Today, the Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, John Currie, reacting to the dire situation confronting Atlantic City's financial future, issued the following statement.

“The situation in Atlantic City is dire, and I am hopeful that the members of the legislature can work out a reasonable compromise. As more facts arise about the administration’s financial dealings with Atlantic City, it becomes clearer that Democrats should stand up for Atlantic City’s residents and working families. I urge legislators to force Governor Christie to make real compromises that protect fair employment practices as well as the rights and autonomy of local voters in Atlantic City, and every municipality across our state," Chairman Currie said.
