CHRISTIE IS TAKING UP RESIDENCE IN A STATE OF DENIAL

CHAIRMAN CURRIE STATEMENT ON CHRISTIE'S OUT-OF-STATE POLITICAL TRAVEL PLANS

Democrat Says Governor Has Taken Up Residency in State of Denial

(Trenton) -- Just hours after Governor Christie committed to not let anything get in the way of doing his job as Governor of New Jersey, news reports indicate he will spend much of the next three weeks conducting personal and political travel outside of New Jersey. In response to this hypocrisy, John Currie, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, issued the following statement:

“Governor Christie continues to put himself above the people of New Jersey. He played the victim while failing to acknowledge the harm caused by the George Washington Bridge access lane closures in Fort Lee. He bullied and attacked legislative investigators and the media for wanting to hold his administration accountable. He dug up stories from high school to discredit one of his own political appointees. And, now, with some 62,000 homes and businesses without power and everyone living in a state of emergency, Chris Christie is putting his political and personal ambition ahead of our state. The people of New Jersey have real concerns about the governor and his administration, as they should. Because, clearly, Chris Christie is not interested in being honest with us, in addressing the scandals he created, or, even, in doing his job. Instead, he is leaving New Jersey behind to take up residency in a state of denial.”
