(Trenton) — Today, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee John Currie weighed in on the student protest spawned by the Chris Christie-appointed Superintendent of Newark Public School Cami Anderson's dysfunctional administration and her decision to close local schools.
Anderson reportedly reneged on a promise to allow food to reach the student protesters that have occupied her office, seeking instead to starve them out.
"We're used to the governor shouting at people for no good reason, but starving students takes his bullying tactics too far. His policies have hurt these kids enough already," said John Currie, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. "If Governor Christie really believed that leadership matters, he would not be hiding in Iowa or New Hampshire from all the problems his administration has created here."
