(Trenton) -- John Currie, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee offered condolences to Union County Sheriff Joseph Cryan concerning the news that his beloved mother, Mary Cryan, passed away.
"My thoughts and prayers are with Joe Cryan, his sister, and their extended family during this difficult time. There is little that I could do or say to dull the pain Sheriff Cryan must be experiencing, but I am hopeful that the love of his community and the embrace of his friends will make his grief easier to bear."
Sheriff Cryan is one Currie's predecessors as state party chairman, and a former State Assembly Majority Leader. He served in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he represented the 20th Legislative District.
The Township of Union in Union County issued this notice with information about funeral arrangements.
