CHAIRMAN CURRIE SAYS "ACT FAST" TO SECURE YOUR HEALTH
(Trenton) -- Today, the Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee urged New Jerseyans to act fast to take advantage of the open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace, which closes on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
"With Valentine's Day approaching, one of the best gifts you can give your sweetheart is a reminder to enroll in affordable health care coverage," said Chairman Currie. "Act fast! Don't delay! The time is now to get covered—find out how you can lower costs, avoid the penalty for being uninsured, and improve your and your family’s overall health and wellness."
Although Governor Chris Christie refused to create a state exchange—and despite the repeated efforts by House Republicans to deny health care coverage to millions—over 200,000 New Jerseyans now have access to affordable, quality healthcare coverage through the ACA Marketplace.
Last year, over 80 percent of New Jersey consumers who enrolled in Marketplace coverage received financial support.
For those already covered by the ACA, there are now 25 percent more health insurance issuers in New Jersey that are competing for business in the Marketplace this year, providing consumers with an average of 40 plans to choose from.
There are three ways to get covered:
