(Trenton) -- New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie reacted to the governor’s 2016 State of the State speech by pointing out what most New Jerseyans have been thinking: How would Chris Christie know the state of our state — he’s been out of state most of the time?
“Today, I heard someone who telecommutes to the state’s highest office blame others for how bad he has made things, and just make stuff up. Much of his speech can be demonstrably disputed by evidence. Then, he brags about his irresponsible behavior and calls himself a leader,” said Chairman Currie. "The only thing that was clear today is that Chris Christie would ruin more lives as President, than he already has as Governor. I will be working hard to make sure he does not have that opportunity.”
On Christie's watch, property taxes have soared, the economy has sputtered, and heroin overdoses have tripled the national average. Leading New Jersey journalists have highlighted the governor’s lack of credibility, noting flatly that “he lies." Meanwhile, Christie wantonly wastes taxpayer dollars as New Jersey families suffer from economic stagnation while commuting on crumbling roads, bridges and tunnels. Polling shows a majority of New Jersey voters wants him to resign.
