Egg Harbor City, NJ – At the reorganization meeting of the Atlantic County Democratic Committee on Tuesday June 10th, the Atlantic County Democratic Committee unanimously re-elected Jim Schroeder from Port Republic to a second two-year term as Chairman of the Atlantic County Democratic Party. Schroeder thanked the 150 Democrats in attendance and pledged to continue the progress that was made during his first term. Schroeder cited the success that the county party made in delivering sizeable victory margins for President Obama, Senators Menendez and Booker and a number of municipal races over the last two years. “With legislative wins by Senators Whelan and Van Drew and Assemblymen Mazzeo and Andrzejczak last November, we now have a Democratic Senator and a Democratic Assemblyman in 20 of Atlantic county’s 23 towns,” said Schroeder.
Schroeder said he is pleased that almost the entire Executive Board was also unanimously re-elected. “We will have almost exactly the same team working over the next two years to continue the progress we have made,” he said. The rest of the officers of the Executive Board are as follows:
Judy Ward - Vice Chair - Pleasantville
Sherry Elder - Secretary - Atlantic City
Mark Link - Treasurer - Mullica Twp.
Ernie Aponte - Assistant Secretary - Mullica Twp.
Mary Slomine - Deputy Treasurer - Margate
Steve Young - Sergeant at Arms - Atlantic City
Nashir Sheikh - Sergeant at Arms - Atlantic City
Rizwan Malik - Sergeant at Arms - Atlantic City
“We are excited about our prospects for 2014. We have great candidates in Cory Booker for Senate, Bill Hughes, Jr. for Congress, Dennis Munoz for Sheriff and our Freeholder candidates Barbara Rheault and Steve Stokes (at large) and Kewy Santana (3rd District),” said Schroeder.
